Author Guidelines

The procedure for writing in GovStat must comply with the following guidelines:

  1. Manuscripts are written in Indonesian and/or English, and submitted online via the GovStat website. The author must login to submit the manuscript that has been made.
  2. Manuscripts contain at least 35,000-38,000 characters (without spaces), including figures and tables, no attachments, and files in Microsoft Office format (.docx).
  3. Titles, Abstract and Keywords are written in English and Indonesian with the following conditions:
    • Concise and informative titles, frequently used in information retrieval systems, and avoid abbreviations and formulas whenever possible;
    • The abstract does not contain pictures or tables and consists of a maximum of 250 words containing background, objectives, methods, results and conclusions;
    • Keywords contain 3 to 5 words.
  4. The contents of the manuscript consist of: Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion, and Conclusion, followed by Acknowledgments and References.
  5. Heading is made up of three levels.
  6. Figures and tables must be legible and in proportion to the size of the entire page. Titles of figures and tables must be numbered.
  7. Mathematical equations should be written down, numbered sequentially, and accompanied by the required information.
  8. Do not use headers and footers including page numbers.
  9. Citations and references follow the following rules:
    • Wikipedia, personal blogs, or non-scientific websites may not be used;
    • References used are at least 15 scientific articles from well-known journals or publishers;
    • References used are at least 15 scientific articles from highly reputable journals or publishers;
    • References must be taken from the last five years;
    • Please ensure that the page number of each citation is included, except for references which do not have page numbers.

The Editorial Board has the authority to reject manuscripts based on the suggestions of reviewers and make necessary changes or adjustments related to the nature of the language without changing its substance. Editing the contents of the substance will be consulted with the author first.
